Life at Ripon College

This weekend has being wonderful. It was springfest! The campus was full of activities. I couldn’t wait to listen to my first live rock music. It was fascinating to see the energy people put into their dance. All the same it was a good night. I will say it’s one of my favorite days one campus. I also had the opportunity to make new friends. Nevertheless final examinations are approaching and everyone is preparing towards it.

On Friday, I had to choose my room for next semester. I will now be living in Brockway. Later that evening, I joined my roommate to celebrate his birthday. It was fun. We played various cards games which I have never heard before. We are now getting closer to finals and there are lots of assignments to do as usual. I am happy at least I have my psychology paper done. I now look forward to going home. I miss my family.

The weekend had been exciting because there were a lot of fun stuffs to choose from. I decided to go bowling with my friends but we ended up in a movie theater .All the same it was a great day and I enjoyed the movie. Also after finishing my homework on Sunday, I decided to go play soccer with my friends and enjoy what spring has to offer. We are left with about five weeks more to go and there are lots of test to look forward to.

I can sense summer getting closer. The weather is nice out there and I can sometimes go out without a jacket. Classes are at it climax and there are lots of papers and exams to write. Though the week days are sometimes tedious, I am always assured of a relaxing and happy weekends. Vacation is a few weeks from now and I am going to be a sophomore. What a fast transition!

What a wonderful break it was.Though I spent the break here on campus, I still had fun. There were other international students on campus and we had a good time together. Break is all over too soon. The semester is almost half way through and I have to meet my academic advisor and submit the classes I will be taking next semester.

Once again we are all looking forward to Spring break. My weekend was a good one and I went out with my friends to celebrate my birthday. We went to a Chinese buffer just a few minutes from campus. It was a great weekend. Nevertheless I had to also study for my mid-semester exams. I now wait for the spring break and I hope to have a relaxing one.

What a wonderful weekend it was. Though I had to prepare for my chemistry exams, I had fun at the soul food dinner organized by the Black student Union (BSU).Once again I saw the faces of countless students who were ready to enjoy the delicious meals cooked by members of BSU.I was happy to see the smiling faces of student as they stood in the line. It was a success. As I was serving, I could not wait to taste those scrumptious dishes I saw.

It’s Friday today. I really love Fridays. This is when I have fun with my friends. I would do my assignments and then watch movies with my friends. There will be soul food dinner this Sunday. Last year’s soul food dinner was great.I had the chance to eat different kinds of food. Though I haven’t signed up to cook, I would be helping my friends to make a couple of dishes.

Once again the weekend is over and another week of classes is ahead. My trip to Chicago was cancelled because of bad weather conditions. All the same it has being deferred .I spent my weekend mostly on my assignments and also preparing for my music quiz on Monday. This week is going to be less busy since I am done with most of my assignments. I also look forward to playing racquetball with other teams in my racquetball class.

We are almost approaching another weekend and almost everyone on campus is looking forward to it. This week has being a busy one. Exams here and there. At last I am done with the first phase of this semester’s exams. Everyone is busy preparing for their exams. I am also excited for this coming weekend, I will be going to a museum in Chicago with members of Black Student Union (BSU).I look forward to this trip and this would be my first trip to Chicago.

The weekend has been great. At least I have been relieved from school work. As the saying goes; all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. My friends and I came together to party and also play some card games.After having all that fun; I look forward to what this week has to offer. I know it is going to be a busy one. I have exams in my Calculus and Psychology class. Regardless all these exams I know my racquetball class will counteract all the stress.

It’s surprising how the days are flying without me noticing. The weekend was a memorable one as I joined the Black Student Union (BSU) for the Spades and Dominos night. This week has being much of quizzes and I had my first exams in Chemistry today. The temperatures are good but as for snow, it’s all over. I always find people asking me how I feel about the snow. For me it is a terrific experience. I like to see the snow. It’s wonderful!

What a beautiful day it was yesterday! The weather made my day. I could walk down to the Gym without my jacket. It’s great to be relieved from winter for a day. Today, Ripon College marks its founder’s day. It was enthralling to see the Professors and other staffs of the College, join the students for lunch. I would say Hurray Ripon College! Also this semester has been good so far and I have been exposed to a lot of new ideas. I have the opportunity of taking music and racquetball classes. Though I am having fun, it also satisfies my requirement. My racquetball class is full of fun and I had my first game yesterday. Despite the fact that I had not been exposed to racquetball earlier in my life, a few lessons from my coach have made me confident. I believe after a few more lessons, I would be a good racquetball player.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Hurray! We are back to school. Now I can see all my friends . I was excited when I saw my room- mate at the airport on our way back to school . Once again we can be together. Classes are now in session and I had my first day of classes today. My psychology class was pretty much interesting as my Professor could easily recite twenty different names of places and objects which were given by students. The weather is also getting chilly as the days go by. Today was quite cold as I walked down to Rodman for my music class; I felt the chilly winds all around me. It’s now about 34°F in Ripon and 72°F in my country. What a difference! All the same I like to see the snow. I will go sledding with my friends tomorrow. It would be fun.

REFLECTION ON LAST SEMESTER

It's surprising to see how fast last semester had gone by. Within a twinkle of an eye I would be a sophomore. Last semester was a good one. I enjoyed all my classes especially my First Year Interdisciplinary Seminar (FYS).Through my FYS, I had the opportunity to visit the Kohler Art Museum to see the surreal aspect of art. Apart from having fun through my classes, I also volunteered as a member of the Pre-med society to help in the Special Olympics at Sun Prairie. It was an exciting experience as we helped the genetically disordered which is a way of contributing our quota to the society in which we live. Finally one of the my most enjoyed student organization (Black Student Union) put up a splendid Soul food dinner in which we cooked for the students to enjoy. Last semester had been splendid and I look forward to what this semester has to offer.
